Chine Collé

Chine Collé is a french term that refers to a specific type of collage often used in printmaking. Typically, a very thin Asian paper (hence the “chine” translated “Chinese”) is pasted onto a thicker western-style paper and printed on. This adds a subtle layer of color or depth and only requires one printing plate.
