Print Cancellation

When an edition is complete, the matrix — the plate, screen, or block that made it — gets destroyed so nothing else can ever be printed from it.

This is called cancellation. We keep the cancelled plates in an archive as a record, but they'll never be used to make another print. It’s how editions stay finite for real, not just on paper.
